About Drift Handpans

Client: Drift Handpans is a new brand launched in August 2024 by Madison-based Isthmus Instruments to offer hand-crafted, affordable handpans. Drift aims to make the instrument more accessible to a broader audience while staying connected to the Madison community.

Challenge: The brand required a visual identity that felt connected to Madison and the surrounding lakes, while reflecting the unique sound, form, and spirit of the handpan, as well as the values of inclusivity and connection.

Strategy: I designed a logo that blends the circular form of the handpan with fluid, water-inspired shapes to symbolize flow, unity, and accessibility. The mark evokes both sound and movement, aligning with the brand’s name and mission to bring people together through music.
